The Climate Vulnerability Project @ Oxford |
I am an environmental politics scholar, currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford in the Department of Politics and International Relations. In 2024, I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin. My research focuses on the political economy of environmental protections and climate vulnerability in the Global South with an emphasis on Latin America. I use mixed methods, combining causal inference techniques and in-depth fieldwork. My work features remote sensing and geospatial data, machine learning, as well as interviews and focus groups. I am particularly interested in understanding the political consequences of environmental degradation, as well as the governance of natural resources under democracy. I am on the 2025-2026 job market. You can find links to my papers and other work here: Research. My work has been funded by the U.S. Fulbright Study Award, the Boren Scholarship, the Climate Social Science Network Seed Grants, and the Texas Politics project. I have been a reviewer for the Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Environmental Politics, Climate Policy, Political Behavior, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Latin American Politics & Society. Prior to receiving my PhD, I received an Honors B.A. from the University of Utah in 2018, where I studied Political Science and Mathematics. Besides English, I speak Portuguese and Spanish and have conducted fieldwork in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and Honduras. |
